Hi all, I have came across a problem with my flitsmeister app via Android Auto on the Ford Focus I have received yesterday via private leasing. The issue starts about few seconds after initial drive, it shows correct speed then it freezes in place accordingly to what I was currently driving and will stay like this until I restart the car/app while I drive or even stay in place, but the GPS is correctly following through, so I can see my car moving on the map as I am. I have recently had the same issue with another Ford Focus that I had as replacement car from the mechanic, but I thought it would only be because there is something with that specific car. This time getting another Ford Focus and encountering the same issue made me think that there is something else happening here. Do you know what could be the issue? Attached you can find the video. I'd like to mention that on my Opel Astra that I'm currently still in possession there is no issue and speedometer works perfectly fine.
Looks like a malfunction in your phone to me. but you can try resetting your SYNC module. but i don't think it will work since Android Auto uses your phone's software to operate.
Flitsmeister stopped supporting android Auto for free and only works if you pay subscription fee. You can try Waze which is free and also supports warnings for the cameras and it is fed by users info as well so quite reliable
I do have paid PRO subscription and it does work perfectly fine on other cars so I'm not sure about this being related to my phone. (Tried some BMW of a friend, tried my other car Opel)
Remove your car bluetooth settings from your phone and reconnect it again maybe will work Otherwise try to delete the cache from the Flitsmeister app
In that case it should be working just fine. No idea why it is doing that and if it does work in other cars it should indeed not be related to your phone. On their side android auto is just taking info from your phone and display it. Therefor you phone is suspect one. It might be an update issue on the cars sync system there is nothing else I can think off.
I do know that with a recent Android auto update the app can be set to minimize battery use. This can in some cases lead to a not working or properly starting Google maps. The same might be the case for other apps used within android auto, such as Flitsmeister. Not sure if this would also explain the difference in use between the different cars. For me it helped to go to Android settings, Apps, choose Android auto, go to battery, and switch it to optimised instead of restricted.
I will try to see after work some of the things you guys mentioned. So far I can only confirm that the Android Auto app was already on Optimized battery usage for me. Will keep you updated.
Soo, I did restart SYNC to factory settings - nothing. I cleared cashe of the app - nothing. I reconnected bluetooth multiple times - nothing. I removed all cars from AA - nothing. I checked just to be sure on my other car right away if that could really be the issue of my phone but it just works perfectly fine there. I can see on the flitsmeister on the phone that it fixes itself the moment I unplug the phone from the port on my Focus.
There should also be a number of several digits, latest version is something like 22318 or something like that. There is 1 specific version that has a lot of bugs. Can you find that number?
You mean this? Build 21194_PRODUCT ? It currently is on factory settings as I have restarted it to see if that would help, took me yesterday almost 2 hours to update it to newest software, gotta do it again now I think
21194 is a buggy version that’s where the issue is. You can use cyanlabs and update to the latest bug free version and that should fix it all.
Might take a while as it will do a re format so about 45 minutes to an hour. Make sure it doesn’t stop in the meantime so either take a long drive or keep engine running idle until done
Yeah now I know haha, was downloading software update via hotspot on my phone yesterday, had to keep the engine running because it was constantly shutting off
Better to do on a laptop or pc and than make a usb you can plug that one in the car and the magic will happen
